Shawn Wasabi has just released a banger. “SNACK feat. raychel jay” could not be more pop. It begins with a poppy staccato piano and the sounds of people having a great time in the background. The lyrics are full of food-related euphemisms. The staccato piano features throughout much of the song along side some great bass and drum layers and other various samples.
I’m gonna be the snack that smiles back
I’m gonna be the Kit to your Kat
I’m gonna be the one you unwrap
Just take me out and break me in half
“SNACK” for all it’s candy references, reminds me of a Coca Cola commercial. It’s joyous, it’s playful, it makes you want to experience a feeling, and subliminally also makes you want the product. I could listen to “SNACK” all day long and still feel the same happiness as the first time I heard it.
I can’t confirm or deny that “SNACK” is sponsored by any candy companies, but if it’s not they should immediately pay Shawn Wasabi and Raychel Jay, because I want a goddamn kit-kat.
