I first heard “We’ve Got Love” by Calan Mai back in 2015. At the time it was just an acoustic demo, I listened to it for a few weeks, but inevitably it faded from my daily playlist. The problem was, although I lost the song and couldn’t recall the name to search for, the melody was forever stuck in my head. For three years I hunted, through every blog and Youtube channel. Finally, after years, a re-released version of the song I fell in love with so long ago.
It doesn’t disappoint. Although initially I was yearning for the original acoustic demo version, this updated version complete with drums and electric guitar is exactly what I had been missing. With opening lines like this
Dan’s been wasting, pacing, making days turn into bong hits
It’s no surprise that Calan Mai had such early success with this song.
The hook of the chorus will be stuck in your head for years after your first listen.
