How I Love (Everything About You) by the High Violets

The High Violets have a brand new nine track album, Heroes and Halos. The first track, How I Love (Everything About You), is a shoegaze dream. Lush with synthesizers, distortion, and an incredible vocal performance.

The song begins like a gun shot, a reverberated snare hits twice, and we’re slammed into a brick wall of sound. Floor to ceiling stacked with instrumentation that doesn’t let up until the lines “See the sunlight
Could you be, Would you be mine?”

From the bands own Bio:

The High Violets formed from the ashes of legendary Portland Oregon favorite, the Bella Low, who played regular gigs with other local psych bands like The Dandy Warhols, Swoon 23, Rick Bain & the Genius Position, Heatmiser and Sugar Boom Lead guitarist Clint Sargent and drummer Luke Strahota picked up the pieces from that band’s crash and formed the High Violets in 1999. After a few early line-up changes they drafted in one of Portland’s most amazing voices, Kaitlyn ni Donovan, who added the lush vocals and beautiful melodies the band needed

The High Violets have performed at South by Southwest, North by Northeast, Musicfest NW, PDX Pop Now! and NoisePop
