“Anyways” is a soaring melodic indie-rock track with a driving backbeat and classic indie vocals. Fronted by Harlan Hutton, this song is a great first look into what is sure to be an amazing album.
With a killer hook that is without a doubt going to stick in my head for weeks, “Anyways” kicks off with an upbeat rhythm and some great guitar playing. I am in love with the guitar tone. It’s only a short intro before Harlan comes in with a great voice perfectly matched to this genre.
She sings “Anyways can’t replace times you didn’t stay / I am trying to erase memories I can’t escape.” A song about insecurities in a new relationship. The upbeat and optimistic music pairs perfectly with the uncertainty felt in the lyrics.
“Anyways” debuts as the first single from Harlan’s self-titled album, which releases this summer.
