Redolent by WMD

You’re standing on the coast; the cold mist lightly grazes your cheeks and the crescendo of the waves as they come crashing into the sand encompasses you; Redolent.

WMD, the solo electronic music project of Michael Erickson, kicks off the new decade with an ambient electronic album, Saudade. The first track, Redolent is lush with sonic atmosphere. It transports you. Evocative and beautiful. This is the perfect daydream song.

Michael Erickson of WMD poses in front of a landscape in a grainy photo.

Erickson’s description of Saudade:

This album is about longing for something you know you will never poses, dreaming of a love you will never receive, and the acceptance that comes with confronting overwhelming thoughts.

This album is about lying down next to someone who cares about you, leaving the windows open and letting the cool air crawl across your floorboards.

This album is about the catharsis that comes with driving five hours to the coast just to sit and watch the waves hit the rocks, listen to the wind play with the grass scattered along the treeline, and think about what kind of house you might build there.

This album is about finally knowing where you want to be.
