Hello everyone, my next single “oneday” is out everywhere you get your music on August 27. Fun fact, August 27 is my mother’s and my grandfather’s birthday, and yes, that is why I picked that date. “oneday” is my attempt at trying to feel like a kid again. I’m always sitting around feeling like Andy Bernard in that episode of the office, thinking about the good old days. And after some playing around with vocal samples, I finally landed on the chopped up lyric, ‘one day can I?’ And I just found it so profound. All these childhood memories rushing back into my head. Running around with my friends. Playing make believe in the trees. Maybe it’s the pandemic, but that feeling just hit me harder this time.
For this song, I enlisted the help of a friend, Takuma Matsui, who is an incredibly talented songwriter, composer, educator, and on top of everything else, he’s an amazing animator! I asked him to create a spotify canvas video to help give the song an added visual element that combines my love of nature with some imaginary friends added. And wow!
